We-Astro is an online astrology consultation platform that connects users from all over the world with professional astrologers for online chat and call consultations. They aimed to make astrology more accessible and convenient for users across the globe. Their services also included reporting modules where they offered to create in-depth reports for matchmaking and kundali. Their services can be availed from we-astro’s website and their android app as well.
Problem Statement
The We-Astro team had developed a robust platform to help users connect with astrologers online. However, the platform struggled to attract new users and generate the desired level of engagement. With low organic traffic and limited social media presence, We-Astro was in need of a comprehensive digital marketing strategy that could help them connect with their target audience, increase their visibility, and drive more signups and app downloads.
We divided the social media marketing for we-astro into two parts:
Generating organic engagement via social media pages
Getting more signups and app downloads with the help of sponsored campaigns
Generating Organic Engagement
We started by creating and optimizing social media pages for the client and created a sponsored ad to generate more Facebook page likes from the audience interested in astrology.

We started off by creating a monthly social media calendar (see below).
To generate organic engagement, we created engaging content related to astrology and saw a tremendous response from the follower base.
To humanize the brand even more, we helped onboard multiple astrologers to perform live sessions on the client’s Facebook page, where they answered the viewer’s astrology queries live.
The live videos were shared with various astrology groups on Facebook, from where they gathered an even more organic audience.
We contacted multiple meme pages on Instagram with more than 1 million followers to launch our viral marketing campaign. On these pages, a specific format of ad creatives works the best. Below are a few creatives that worked the most to get more signups:

Once we had the users onboard and wanted the final step of the funnel to be completed, we used remarketing with the help of Facebook pixels to show them the ads based on their activity.
The client wanted data on people interested in the free horoscope module of we-astro to upsell their services. We conducted keyword research and optimized the ad copies per Google ads guidelines.
Once the campaign started delivering traffic, we used conversion rate optimization tricks to improve the conversion rate, which included monitoring the user behavior regularly and getting in touch with the technical team to enhance the user touchpoints.

The campaign generated 60,000 clicks. The conversion rate of the campaign was more than 30%, and the Cost per click was less than Rs. 1/-
The campaign delivered more than the client’s expectations and was a success.
We-astro’s website needed some authority to rank the keywords and retain rankings in the SERPs.
We analyzed the best-performing competitors organically and extracted the most profitable keyword ideas from them, along with manual keyword research.
We curated a list of two types of keywords – Informative and Transactional and prepared content for both. The main goal was getting inbound traffic and more signups from the pillar and blog pages.
Once the pages were built and optimized for SEO, we created high-quality backlinks via guest posts and PR (considering that the primary keywords had a very high difficulty score). We ensured that the website’s spam score remained less than 5% while building links.
As a result, our traffic grew from 500 visitors to 8000 visitors per month, a 1500% increase in organic traffic.

While the website generated terrific organic traffic, the client wanted the app to perform organically well. Therefore, we used our ASO techniques to improve the app’s visibility in the Google Play Store when someone searched for online astrology services.

As a result, the domain authority of we-astro had a positive impact, and even the most difficult keywords started getting ranked in SERPs.
